For the second successive round, Greetham knocked out opposition from a higher league in the Peterborough League Knockout Cup.
Right from the kick-off of Sunday's game, the Rutlanders piled on the pressure on the home side's goal. With Tom Caldicott in excellent form up front he was very unfortunate to have his effort ruled offside.

From a great run from Will Rayner and Aaron Simpson on the right ending in a perfect pass to Tom, he took it on the chest and volleyed it into the top corner from the edge of the box.

This disallowed effort only fired up Greetham to break the deadlock. Minutes later they went ahead from a corner from Ollie McCann which went straight through the defence.

McCann's runs were proving too much for City's right back and he was unlucky not to get a second with his shot from outside the box which just went over the crossbar.

Just before half-time it was McCann and Tom Cooper combing to put Chris Gardner through to score.

At the start of the second half it was inevitable that the home side would attack Greetham but with the centre halves Nathan Cope and Craig Brown in excellent form they could not penetrate the defence.

At left back Chris Steel was having his best game of the season so far. Peterborough did break through on the odd occasion but Liam Cope provided a safe pair of hands in goal.

Coming on as sub, Josh Walton scored after another through ball from McCann and to complete the scoring, Fortnam finished off an effort from Caldicott which the goalkeeper failed to hold.

Greetham are at home on Sunday in the Leicestershire County Cup against Bardon Hill.
