Around 700 theatre-goers attended live events at Rutland County Museum during the summer.
The six-show series started in May with the aim of providing more entertainment for residents and tourists.
The main exhibition area at the museum was transformed into a 200-seat theatre with licensed bar for the events, which ended with a show b
y television presenter Chris Packham during the Birdfair.
Councillor Peter Jones said: "Live@The Museum has been very successful in getting more people out and about on a Saturday evening, and most importantly into the museum.
"Throughout the programme of events lots of people have indicated it was their first visit to the museum despite having lived in Oakham and surrounding areas for many years.
"We're now taking stock of the events and deciding which format to move forward with. We went into this pilot scheme to find out more about what works and what doesn't, and I'm pleased to say that virtually everybody who has attended an event has thoroughly enjoyed themselves."
The organisers are hoping to find out what audiences though of the show to plan another season of events.
Mr Jones said: "We're keen to hear any ideas from the local community as to what events they would like to see in the future. Let us know whether music, theatre or comedy is your thing. We're also particularly keen to hear from the under 30s who we struggled to attract during the pilot series.
"Let us know what would get you out on a Saturday night."
