A massive lottery grant is set to revolutionise play facilities for children and young people in the county.
The £200,000 award to Rutland County Council will allow the council to buy a mobile skate ramp to take around villages, employ three new part time play leaders, and to put on a series of free play days for children and young people.

More than 8,000 children and young people in the county are set to benefit from the cash injection which will also pay for new toys, and transport to play day venues.

Youngsters will also be able to have their say on the type of activities they do and will be involved in the design of the play projects.

The Big Lottery Fund grant is part of its multi million pound Children's Play Programme which is investing over £1million in the East Midlands.
