Rutland Railway Museum holds its annual model railway and model engineering weekend on Sunday and Monday (August 24 and 25).
Centred on their historic single track locomotive shed which came from the ironstone quarry at Woolsthorpe, the show will feature model railway layouts, displays and traders, engineering models, and miniature railway rides.

And on the standard gauge track there will be popular 'rides with the driver' as well as diesel and steam demonstration freight operations.

On Sunday August 24, museum volunteers hope to demonstrate their unusual vertical boiler steam locomotive Sentinel No. 7, which, with its modern diesel-like appearance, is one of the few of its type to remain operational.

On Monday August 25, war veteran locomotive Singapore bows out after ten years continuous service for boiler inspection and overhaul.

The Cottesmore site also features a museum about the iron ore mining industry, line side nature trail, picnic areas, cafe, shop, toilets and free car parking.

The show is open from 11am to 5pm both days, with a family ticket costing £12.
