Ketton Club is holding an open day on Sunday (August 24) from 12 - 5pm.
The club has been an institution in the village since the early 1900s.
The land and the barns that now make up the Club were given to the village by a local farmer so the villagers had somewhere to meet, chat and play traditional games. The Club is unique in that it is owned and run by the members of the village.

The Club was renowned back in the 30s for the game quoits, and Ketton resident Arthur Knox was All England Champion.

John Dillon, Club Steward said: "Though the Club will not have the traditional Quoit game to play, there will be hoopla which is very similar, a lucky dip, apple bobbing, skittles, stocks and many more traditional games for all the family at the open day."

It is free for anyone to come along and enjoy a free pint with John and Sarah Dillon, the Club Stewards.

There will be a barbecue and the chance to have a go at one of the many traditional games on offer. For further information on the Open Day please call Ketton Club on (01780) 720272.
